The discomfort may be dull or it may be sharp or be similar to a burning sensation. You will experience the pain in the neck, upper back or the lower back. It could also radiate to legs and feet.
There are several type of medicines available which offer relief from back stiffness. These include both- non steroidal and anti-inflammatory drugs such as aspirin, naproxen sodium and ibuprofen. Muscle relaxants help alleviate the pain. You can choose from drugs like cyclobenzaprine, diazepam, carisoprodol and methocarbamol. Anticonvulsants like clonezepam, carbamazepine and valproate also help treat back distress that occurs simultaneously with leg discomfort.
